Feedback to Provinces

Please advise all the Reps of the following :

After various responses received from Provincial Reps , the following is the consensus :

That the issue of entries , age limits etc will remain as is , except for the introduction of a new rule regarding ex National players , and that is that they may play in their own age group or down , but not up

This whole issue of entries and limitations will be added to the Agenda for the next AGM for further debate and decisions

ex-National Players

Introduction of a new rule requiring approval:
The issue of ex National players playing below their age groups.

This problem was brought to the attention of the Executive during the 2014 Tournament.

The suggested proposal for consideration is that ex-National players, in any age group, should not be allowed to play in a division above their age.

E.g. Glenwood had three ex Boks in their early 30’s playing in the 35+ group. This is not fair on players at the end of the age group, i.e. 45 year olds.

Thus if you are an ex-National player, then you will ONLY be permitted to play in your age bracket or below BUT never up!

Should ex-National players be limited to playing in their age division?

New dates for Durban 2015

The 2015/2016 Durban Organising Committee have discussed the possibility of moving Masters one (1) week back (earlier), the weekend before the long weekend.

The reasons why they are suggesting this is the following:

  • Flights and accommodation in Durban will be cheaper over a normal weekend,
  • There will be rugby on in Durban,
  • It won’t clash with SA Lifesaving which is in Durban (accommodation issues here again)
  • Gives the players the chance of spending the long weekend with family?

What are your thoughts here?

Is your province in favour of moving the date one week earlier?
