Criteria for winning the “Spirit of Masters”

Criteria

Sportsmanship and Fair Play
The primary criterion is a steadfast adherence to the “spirit of the game.” This includes:

  • Respect for Officials: Maintaining a positive and professional attitude toward referees, even in high-pressure games.
  • Fair Competition: Competing fiercely but fairly, without resorting to overly aggressive or unsportsmanlike tactics.
  • Mutual Respect: Showing genuine camaraderie toward opponents both in the pool and at the social events.

“The Social Spirit”
A winner often embodies the fun side of the tournament:

  • Camaraderie: Being a central figure in the post-game social interactions that define the event.
  • Team Morale: Keeping spirits high within their own squad, regardless of whether the team is winning or losing.

Selection of the Winners

This decision is made by the Local Organising Committee for the current Masters tournament.
